Gender-Based Violence Services
Women’s Health in Women’s Hands services for addressing gender-based violence (GBV) aims to support and empower women affected by GBV, including female genital mutilation/cutting (FGM/C). Our activities adopt an inclusive and sensitive approach to promote gender equity, considering the diverse socio-cultural contexts of the women we serve. We emphasize the importance of understanding trauma and building relationships based on trust.
Our GBV Prevention and Care Cascade Program helps racialized women, including those from African, Caribbean, Black, Latin American, and South Asian communities. We focus on their specific risks and cultural needs for safe and supportive GBV services. This program ensures racialized women receive ongoing care for their health needs, not just immediate safety. We provide primary violence prevention activities and connect women aged 16 and older who are at risk or experiencing GBV to the care they need.
Services we offer:
· Case management
· Crisis intervention

· Individual counselling
· Advocacy & referrals
